Welcome to Writing!

During the first quarter of writing, students will explore the writing process, including brainstorming, organizing ideas, drafting, peer revising and editing, and publishing. This quarter we will examine two types of writing. We will begin with expository writing, used to explain ideas and convey information. We will finish the quarter with narrative writing, used for personal expression. Both forms of writing are important communication tools and will help us become better learners as we continue our fifth grade journey!
